Excused: Carolyn Classen, Michael Guymon, Sylvia Mungaray, Larry Roberts, Gail Schuessler.

Meeting called to order at 7:10 p.m.
Approval of 6/17/08 Minutes: Motion/second/passed approving.
Call to Audience:
1. McShay addressed the 5/24/08 incident at Treat & 8th where thirteen 9mm shots were fired into the air but the vehicle was not identified. It was considered a level 4 incident due to lack of identity information from callers. The cartridges were secured as evidence by resident/Det. Gamber, PCSO.
2. Yousey presented his client's proposed addition plans at 2334 E. 1st, requesting a zero lot line on the east side of the property, after which discussion followed.

Standing Committee Reports:
Sam Hughes Care for Seniors (Trudy Mills, Summer Coordinator-Written): Added 2 new recipients, trained 2 new volunteers, served at least 7 people, some assisted on more than one occasion; donations acknowledged from Frank Soltys and Tatiana Vassiliev; bank balance $369.88.
Elderly Housing/Mackey Development (Carbajal): Construction is to begin in October. Linear park need was discussed.
Traffic/Security (Donahue): AZ Transportation Enhancement Program seeking funds for bicycle routes on Treat Ave and 3rd Street. 7 speed humps to be installed before school convenes.
Newsletter/Membership/Technology: Wilder reported that following Debbie Stertz' postcard, 30 people joined Listserve, bringing the total to 215. Rick Bell expressed interest in helping with membership.
Schools: O'Dowd and Soltys toured and were very impressed with the new UofA basketball training facility.
Announcements:
1. Free swim reminder for August 9th, noon to 3 pm, in conjunction with Tucson's 233rd birthday celebration
2. SHNA Board Retreat 8/19/08 to be held at Rocco's Little Chicago, 2707 E. Broadway, beginning at 6 pm.
